IncludeAbility is piloting a new program this winter, the Snow Angel's Project!
Snow on sidewalks can be hazardous for residents, especially for school age children, individuals with mobility disabilities, postal carriers, and public safety officials. Clearing snow from sidewalks can be difficult to do for seniors and those living with a physical disability. The Snow Angel's program will match community volunteers with a senior or person with a physical disability to assist with snow removal.
IncludeAbility's goal is to foster community relationships, provide assistance and relieve stress for those who would like their snow removed but are not physically able and paying for snow removal is a financial burden.
Requests to be a part of the Snow Angel program for both volunteers and neighbors in need must be received by December 4, 2023, to pair Snow Angel Volunteers with neighbors in need together.
Volunteer as a Snow Angel
In the event of a snowstorm or significant snowfall, the snow angel will remove snow from their neighbor's driveway/walkway/sidewalk within 24 hours of a snowstorm. Snow angels will be matched with a neighbor within a 1-mile radius of their home.
You can sign up by emailing juliehartzler@include-ability.org by December 4, 2023. The Snow Angels Program will work to pair you with a nearby neighbor. We will be in touch when you have been matched with a neighbor in need.
